Partials & Dentures

Aside from being inconvenient, due to affecting your speech and eating, missing teeth can have more severe affects on your facial structure, as your jawbone does not retain the same shape. A replacement for teeth is dentures; whether partial or complete. Dentures are dental prosthetics that include gum-colored base to be worn over your gums. Partial dentures are when you still have natural teeth and complete dentures is when no natural teeth remain. Complete dentures are made after your natural teeth have been removed and the gums have begun to heal, usually about 8-12 months. During this time, you can request immediate dentures, which are made before the teeth are removed, and need to be adjusted as your gums shrink and heal.

Both complete and partial dentures can be and should be removed every night. They should be cleaned daily and stored overnight in a liquid solution.
